Congress 5G formula: Congress to announce five ‘guarantees’ for the people of Telangana at a public meeting ahead of assembly elections in the state Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi will announce five poll guarantees at a rally on September 17, party’s Telangana unit president and MP A Revanth Reddy said.

The Congress has already announced that the first meeting of the newly constituted Congress Working Committee (CWC), headed by party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, will be held in Hyderabad on September 16.There, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting will be held on September 17, in which all Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chiefs will participate.

After Karnataka, Congress guaranteed in Telangana

The Congress had released the ‘Kisan Manifesto’, ‘SC/ST Manifesto’ and ‘Youth Manifesto’ for the assembly elections scheduled in the coming months, which included promises made to the voters of Telangana.

Telangana was merged on September 17.

The ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRAC) in Telangana has announced candidates for 115 of the total 119 assembly seats. The state is likely to witness a series of events on September 17, the same day that the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad was merged with the Union of India under Nizam’s rule in 1948.

The central government and various political parties have planned events in Hyderabad to celebrate the day. This is considered important in view of the upcoming elections.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah had attended the official ‘Liberation Day’ programme organised by the Centre in Hyderabad last year and is expected to attend the event in the Telangana capital this year as well.

Several programmes will be held in the state on September 17.

The Communist Party of India (CPI) has decided to organise a series of events from September 11 to 17 to commemorate the Telangana Kisan Sashastra Sangharsh (1946-51). This struggle was led by communist leaders. The CPI says that this struggle forced the Nizam to merge Hyderabad state with the Union of India.

Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) will organise a motorcycle rally and public meeting on September 17 and observe the day as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’.

Union Tourism Minister and BJP’s Telangana unit president G Kishan Reddy on Saturday accused the ruling BRS and the opposition Congress of not celebrating September 17 officially during their tenure due to a secret pact allegedly entered into with the AIMIM.
