The government will develop 22 new nature parks in the state to give a thrust to eco-tourism, said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, while launching the ‘Mera Vriksh, Mera Parivar’ plantation programme here on Monday.The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of Glen Nature Park. He said Rs 96 lakh would be spent on the park which would spread over 164 hectares and it would have three walking trails from IIAS to Brass Path gate, Glen Park to Summer Hill and Glen Park to Forest Nursery and it would also have three picnic spots.Tourists and schoolchildren would find this place as a beautiful destination for picnic, he added.The Chief Minister said over 1 lakh saplings could be planted in the town on the government as well as forests land and every resident should ensure their survival. “About 17.54 lakh saplings have been planted in three days of the afforestation campaign,” he said.
