Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron jointly inaugurated the first edition of Bharat Innovates 2026 at the Palais des Expositions in Nice, France, marking a significant milestone in Indo-French cooperation in deep technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Organised by the Government of India under the Ministry of Education, Bharat Innovates 2026 serves as a global platform to showcase India’s rapidly growing innovation ecosystem and foster partnerships between Indian deep-tech innovators and international stakeholders. The event highlights India’s advancements across sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, biotechnology, healthcare, energy, advanced manufacturing, mobility, and space technologies.
Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi emphasized India’s innovation-driven growth, stating that innovation is embedded in India’s DNA and that the country is innovating at scale and speed for a sustainable future. He described Bharat Innovates as an invitation for the world to collaborate with India in shaping the next chapter of global technological progress.
President Macron praised the strong and evolving partnership between India and France, noting that hosting the first-ever Bharat Innovates event outside India reflects the depth of bilateral ties. He highlighted the immense potential for future collaboration through the scientific, entrepreneurial, and industrial strengths of both nations.
Following the inauguration, the leaders toured the Bharat Innovates Innovation Pavilion, which features 120 cutting-edge technologies and breakthrough innovations developed by Indian startups and premier higher education institutions.
Held from June 14 to 16, 2026, the event includes 11 high-level panel discussions, sector-focused masterclasses, investor pitch sessions involving more than 50 startups, B2B matchmaking meetings, and networking opportunities with investors, corporations, universities, incubators, and policymakers from around the world.
Bharat Innovates 2026 reflects the shared commitment of India and France to strengthen innovation-led growth, technological collaboration, and global partnerships in emerging sectors.
