The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today reviewed the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY) – the Union Government’s flagship irrigation programme. The meeting was attended by senior officials from various concerned Ministries, besides PMO and NITI Aayog. Officials stated that out of 99 priority irrigation projects, 21 projects, with a total irrigation potential of 5.22 lakh hectares are likely to be completed by June 2017. (AU) सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने ट्रिपल तलाक का मुद्दा संवैधानिक पीठ के पास भेज दिया है। अब इस मामले की सुनवाई सुप्रीम कोर्ट की संवैधानिक पीठ करेगी। गौरतलब है कि ट्रिपल तलाक की संवैधानिक वैधता को लेकर दायर कई याचिकाओं पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट सुनवाई कर रहा था। पिछली सुनवाई में शीर्ष न्यायालय ने सभी पक्षों से जवाब तलब करते हुए मुद्दे निर्धारित करने को कहा था।अटॉर्नी जनरल ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट से तीन तलाक मुद्दे की सुनवाई मई से पहले करने का निवेदन किया, जिसे कोर्ट ने खारिज कर दी। अब इस मामले की सुनवाई 11 मई से होगी।
