(ET) The Indian Oil Corporation will set up a Rs 600-crore plant for the production of second generation ethanol in Haryana. The Haryana Government has accepted the investment proposal which approved by the empowered executive committee at its meeting held here, today. The plant will use plant waste, stubble, husk and straw to produce 100 kilo litres of ethanol every day. The state government has agreed to provide land either on nominal lease or free of cost. (NDTV) In April, the Reserve Bank of India advised banks to closely monitor loans to telecom operators after Airtel, Vodafone and Idea got caught up in a price war with Reliance Jio. The apex bank had asked banks to consider setting aside higher provisions for loans in stressed sectors by June 30. (PTI) Aadhaar numbers and personal information of as many as 135 million Indians could have been leaked from four government portals due to lack of IT security practices, the Centre for Internet and Society has claimed. “Based on the numbers available on the websites looked at, estimated number of Aadhaar numbers leaked through these four portals could be around 130-135 million,” the report by CIS said. Further, as many as 100 million bank account numbers could have been “leaked” from the four portals, it added. (PTI) The government is working on various auction models with regard to sale of coal blocks for commercial mining by private companies, a senior official said today. “We are formulating a proposal detailing the auction models to be considered by an inter-ministerial committee,” Coal Joint Secretary Vivek Bharadwaj said.
