(FE) India’s state-run power utility plans to invest $10 billion in new coal-fired power stations over the next five years despite the electricity regulator’s assessment that thermal plants now under construction will be able to meet demand until 2027. All the 1,137 statutory cities and towns in six States of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Kerala and Telangana are set to be declared Open Defecation Free (ODF) by October 2 this year marking the completion of three years of Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban). (TOI) Indian Oil Corporation’s (IOC) upcoming terminals to import LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) at Kochi and Paradip would commence operations by 2018, a senior official said. “They are likely to be completed in 2018,” said R Sitharthan, executive director, IOC, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The company now has a LPG import terminal at Kandla in Gujarat.
