(DJ) केंद्र सरकार ने आज संसद के शीतकालीन सत्र के दौरान इलेक्टोरल बॉण्ड (निर्वाचन बॉण्ड) जारी करने की शर्तों को अंतिम रूप दिया। केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्री अरुण जेटली आम बजट 2017-18 के भाषण में इलेक्टोरल बॉण्ड लाने की घोषणा की थी। इन बॉण्ड के जारी होने के बाद एसबीआई की निर्धारित शाखाओं से एक हजार रुपए, दस हजार रुपए, एक लाख रुपए, दस लाख रुपए और एक करोड़ रुपए के खरीदें जा सकेंगे। पिछले लोकसभा चुनाव या विधानसभा चुनाव में 1 फीसद से अधिक वोट पाने वाले पंजीकृत राजनीतिक दल ही इलेक्टोरल बॉण्ड से फंडिंग ले सकेंगे।

(FE) A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court will be pronouncing the quantum of sentence for former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad who has been convicted in a fodder scam case. On December 23, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief along with 14 others was found guilty by the court while seven accused including former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra were acquitted. Lalu has been convicted in one of the cases of the fodder scam, wherein Rs 900 crore from the Bihar exchequer were siphoned off under the pretext of purchasing fodder for livestock, during ’80s and ’90s.

(FE) The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill 2017 seeking to criminalise instant divorce, triple talaq, is likely to be tabled in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. The Bill, last week, was passed in the Lok Sabha with most of the leading parties in the Opposition, including the Congress, voting in favour, but with caveats. It was passed after the House rejected a string of amendments moved by various Opposition members. The Centre termed the voting as “historic” and expressed confidence that it would be passed in Rajya Sabha as well.
(PTI) The government today said there have been complaints against banks that they do not accept coins for transactions at their branches. “The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has informed that it has been receiving general complaints from the public against banks for non-accepting coins,” Minister of State for Finance Shiv Pratap Shukla said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha. However, there are no specific complaints that have been received against any bank, the minister added. (PTI) The corporate affairs ministry has given permission for penal action against 196 companies for violating CSR norms in 2014-15 fiscal, according to union minister P P Chaudhary. Under the Companies Act, 2013, certain class of profitable entities are required to shell out at least two per cent of their three-year annual average net profit towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. “Till date, the ministry has accorded permission for penal action against 196 companies for financial year 2014- 15,” Chaudhary, Minister of State for Corporate Affairs, said in a written reply to Rajya Sabha today.
