(LiveMint) Rising food prices pushed India’s retail inflation to a 17-month high in December, breaching the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) medium-term target for the second straight month, which could intensify pressure for it to raise policy rates in the next few months. (PTI) The Income Tax Department of Bihar & Jharkhand region is likely to achieve a growth of 19 per cent in tax collection during the current fiscal as it has already successfully brought 3.25 lakh new assessees under its net.
