(PTI) NHIDCL and IL&FS transportation signed an MoU for construction of Zojila tunnel at an estimated cost of Rs 6,808.69 crore, the government said today. The tunnel will provide all weather connectivity between Srinagar, Kargil and Leh. (PTI) Regulator Sebi has barred Gulshan Nirman India Ltd and its present and former directors from the capital market for at least four years and directed them to refund the money that the company had collected illegally from investors. According to a Sebi order, Gulshan Nirman had raised an amount of over Rs 39 lakh by issuing secured redeemable non- convertible debentures (NCDs) to at least 75 investors during the financial years 2011-12 and 2012-13. Earlier, it had fixed a ceiling for floor prices. It was 20% for non-power consumers and 10% for power. “Subsidiaries have also been empowered to fix the periodicity of these e-auctions depending on market forces,” a senior Coal India executive told. (Tribune) To end water woes being experienced in several areas of Uttarakhand, the World Bank has agreed to finance water schemes worth Rs 975 crore in 35 semi-urban areas of Dehradun and six other districts. (DNA) Payment of Gratuity (Amendment) Bill, 2017, which will make formal sector workers eligible for tax-free gratuity up to Rs 20 lakh, is likely to be introduced in the forthcoming budget session. According to a labour ministry source, the government wants to increase the limit of tax-free gratuity from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh for workers in the organised sector.
