(ET) The Allahabad high court will continue on Tuesday hearing of the case filed against Reserve Bank of India circular by power companies . The court heard Reserve Bank of India counsel on Monday, sources said. On August 14th, the power companies presented their arguments against the circular. The companies cited the 40th Parliamentary Standing Committee report that noted that the outcomes of RBI’s revised framework with respect to the electricity sector have been disappointing with bank non-performing assets (NPAs) rising. (LiveMint) State-run Coal India Ltd (CIL) expects 367 million tonne output by the end of the current financial year from its 115 ongoing projects. The publi sector undertaking accounts for over 80% of India’s coal production. The coal production from the projects is “planned to reach 377 mt in 2019-20,” Coal India said in a report, adding that there are 65 projects in the pipeline with a “targeted capacity of 247.66 mt per year”. “Of these 65 future projects, 27 with ultimate capacity of 108.29 MT have been approved,” Coal India said. (LiveMint) Bad prospects have forced state-run Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd (HPCL) to relinquish 19 of its 21 exploration and production blocks, ending its upstream ambitions. In its 2017-18 annual report, HPCL also said the net worth of its fully owned exploration and production subsidiary Prize Petroleum Co. Ltd has partially eroded. “The management had considered ₹ 24.41 crore as an impairment loss in value of investment. Accordingly, a provision was accounted during FY2016-17.
