(ET) Diesel prices across the four metro cities declined for the fourth straight day, with prices falling by 8 to 9 paise on Sunday, data on the Indian Oil Corp website showed. Petrol prices, however were unchanged during the day, according to the data. In the national capital, diesel was priced at Rs 66.14, down from Rs 66.22 per litre on Saturday. (ET) State-run construction major NBCC is open to acquiring more distressed assets in the real estate sector, provided there are no corporate governance issues, chairman Anoop Kumar Mittal has said. NBCC has already bid for Jaypee Infratech, which is being resolved through the corporate insolvency process. “There are a few other projects where we have been approached. We are examining the commercial viability but we won’t take up projects where there are corporate governance issues,” Mittal said, refusing to name the projects the firm is interested in. NBCC has been directed by the Supreme Court to complete the stalled projects of Amrapali Group on the project management consultancy (PMC) model.…

(PTI) State-owned Power Finance Corporation (PFC) completed acquisition of majority stake in REC Ltd by transferring Rs 14,500 crore to the government and is hopeful of merger of the two firms in 2019-20. The transaction assumed significance because it helped the government meet its disinvestment target of Rs 80,000 crore for the current financial year. “We are hopeful about merger of the two firms (PFC and REC) during 2019-20. (ET) The government has transferred Rs 5,940 crore as the first instalment of Rs 2,000 each to 29.7 million small and marginal farmers across the country, which is set to fuel the rural economy during the poll season. (FE) The government may not pay around Rs 32,000 crore of kerosene and LPG subsidy dues for FY19 before March end, in a bid to meet the revised fiscal targets. The total bill for LPG subsidy under direct benefit transfer and kerosene for the current financial year has come to Rs 36,500 crore. Of this, Rs 4,000 crore is on account of kerosene and the rest Rs 32,500 crore is due to LPG. (ET) Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum, Bharat Petroleum, and GAIL have exceeded their capital expenditure targets for the current fiscal, having spent heavily on refinery upgrades, pipelines, and marketing infrastructure.
