(PTI) Tata Power said its subsidiary Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) has commissioned 150 mega watt (MW) solar capacity project at Pokharan in Rajasthan. With this, the overall operating renewable capacity of TPREL now stands at 2,628 MW in India, Tata Power said in a statement. “Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), a 100 per cent subsidiary of Tata Power, has commissioned 150 MW solar capacity in village Chhayan at tehsil Pokharan in Rajasthan,”the statement said. The company, the statement said, had won this capacity in a bid at a tariff of Rs 2.72/kWh (kilo wat hour) in May 2018. “The…

(ET) Indian refiners do not see an immediate disruption in crude supplies after the drone strikes on Saudi Arabia’s oil processing facilities on Saturday, though prices may witness a short-term spike. A delayed restoration of the damaged facilities may, however, trigger a search for alternative supplies. The drone attacks by West Asian rebel groups have hit 5.7 million barrels per day of production, which represents nearly half of the kingdom’s output and 6% of global crude supplies. (ET) Coal India has abandoned its move to cut supplies to inefficient power plants following resistance from customers. It had planned to cut the yearly quota by 80 million tonnes. A government panel had suggested introduction of an upper limit of coal supply for each megawatt of installed capacity, which reduces supply to old, inefficient plants on the basis of a formula it suggested. “We were first asked to revise the annual contracted quantities for each plant based on the recommendations by the panel,” a Coal India executive said. “However, following calculation for revised quantities, a number of plants were to receive less…
