(The Pioneer) The Ministry of Housing and Affairs (MoHUA) has sanctioned more than 93 Lakh houses against the demand of 1.12 crore houses under Prime Minister Awas Yojna (Urban). As per data furnished by the Ministry, as many as 55 Lakh houses are grounded for construction of which construction of more than 28 lakh houses is complete. (FE) Goods and services tax (GST) collections in October — concerning mostly September transactions — came in at Rs 95,380 crore, 5.29% lower than in the year-ago month, amplifying concerns over a likely big deficit in revenue from this comprehensive indirect tax and cementing the notion that economic slowdown is barely being reversed.
