(FE) Gujarat Cabinet on Wednesday announced Rs. 700-crore relief package for more than four lakh farmers who suffered heavy losses due to unseasonal rain in the state. “The decision was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Vijay Rupani. Compensation would be given to farmers as per the central government’s Calamity Relief Fund norms. As per information provided by the BJP to the EC on October 31, it received a total ofover Rs 700 crore in donations through cheques and online payments during the financial year 2018-19. (ET) The country’s largest public sector bank, State Bank of India, has just released a report, that predicts only a 4.2 per cent GDP growth in the second quarter.The bank attributes it to low automobile sales, deceleration in air traffic movements, flattening of core sector growth and declining investment in construction and infrastructure.
