(ET) Political parties and the business community in Kashmir welcomed the Supreme Court’s observation that access to internet is a fundamental right and urged the government to restore internet services immediately. Jammu and Kashmir National Conference said the observations of the apex court about snapping of internet services indefinitely were significant and that the government must take a call to review and restore connectivity immediately. The party’s provincial president Devender Singh Rana said the communication clampdown had hugely impacted the people of J&K, especially those engaged in trade, commerce and academics.

(ET) Petrol, diesel prices across the country were hiked again on Friday, scaling levels last seen in November 2018 as tensions in West Asia fan global crude oil prices. The price of petrol in the national capital was increased by 15 paise to Rs 75.96 per litre, while the price of diesel was increased by 11 paise to reach Rs 69.05 per litre. (ET) Oil and Natural Gas Corp, Bharat Petroleum and Oil India have begun making their share of payment of about $2 billion towards the much-delayed Mozambique liquefied natural gas (LNG) project. Three state-run firms have a combined 30% participating interest in the Mozambique gas project, which made a final investment decision last year to spend about $15 billion on developing gas fields and liquefaction project.
