(PTI) With 18,257 new coronavirus infections being reported in a day, India’s tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 4,36,22,651, while the active cases increased to 1,28,690, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated. The death toll climbed to 5,25,428 with 42 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated. The active cases comprise 0.30 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.50 per cent, the ministry said. (PTI) Tata Power plans to invest over Rs 75,000 crore in renewables in the next five years and aims to have an electricity generation capacity of 30 GW during the same period with more than half coming from clean energy sources. Currently, Tata Power has a generation capacity of 13.5 GW with 34 per cent contributed by renewable energy sources. Kant was Niti Aayog CEO for almost six years, completing his extended term last month. G20 is a grouping of 19 major developed and emerging economies and the European Union. Its members account for more than 80% of global GDP, 75% of global trade, and 60% of the global population. India will take over G20 presidency from Indonesia on December 2.
(ET) The petroleum and natural gas ministry is planning to push for an allocation of ₹44,000 crore to compensate state-run oil companies for the losses they have been incurring by selling domestic cooking gas at below-market rates, said people aware of the matter. The amount would go towards offsetting oil marketing companies’ losses on the sale of cooking gas in 2021-22 and 2022-23 as well as providing subsidies to Ujjwala customers this year, said the people.
