(ET) The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) offered ‘Vrat thalis’ for passengers on fast during Navratri in Delhi. The passengers are offered meals without onion and garlic en route their journey on the train. IRCTC will provide this facility at 400 stations.

Declaring the result of the election at the Samajwadi Party national convention at Ramabai Ambedkar stadium here, Ram Gopal Yadav said Akhilesh Yadav was the only candidate for the post. (PTI) Over 1,100 companies have registered for India’s mega defence exhibition –the DefExpo– to be held at Gandhinagar in Gujarat next month. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday reviewed the preparations for the event, billed as the biggest ever exhibition of land and naval systems being hosted in India. The 12th edition of DefExpo, scheduled to be held between October 18 and 22, will be the biggest ever as a record 1,136 companies have registered for the event as on September 27 and the numbers are expected to rise, the defence ministry said.
