(IE) The Uttar Pradesh government claimed to have rescued 87 people who were stranded in floodwaters in Shravasti and Kushinagar districts, in the wake of a sudden release of more than 5 lakh cusecs of water from different barrages after heavy rain in Nepal. Of the rescued people, 76 are from Kushinagar and 11 from Shravasti, according to a press release issued by the state government.
