By enabling real-time monitoring and informed decision-making in coal imports substitution, this initiative represents a significant milestone in the Government vision of ensuring Atmanirbhar Bharat. CIMS is a digital platform developed to streamline the reporting of coal imports, ensuring timely and accurate data for effective policy formulation and sectoral analysis. (Pioneer) India’s overall gems and jewellery exports declined by 11.72 per cent to $28.5 billion (around `2.41 lakh crore) in 2024-25 compared to the previous financial year on continued geopolitical tensions, according to the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC). The overall gems and jewellery exports stood at $32.2 billion (`2.67 lakh crore) in 2023-24, according to GJEPC data.
