FE Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) on Friday posted second quarter profit for the financial year 2023-24 at Rs 16,553.32 crore, up 142.4 per cent in comparison to Rs 6830.16 crore during the second quarter of FY23, surpassing estimates. It posted revenue from operations at Rs 146,873.73 crore, down 12.9 per cent as against Rs 168,656.12 crore during the same period last year. To boost liquidity and capacity of bidders, NHAI has accepted Insurance Surety Bond for the monetization program of the upcoming bid of Toll Operate Transfer (TOT) Bundle 14. This will be the first time this innovative instrument is being utilized as a Bank Guarantee (BG) in the road infrastructure sector for monetization of bids. NHAI has been working closely with Highway Operators Association of India (HOAI), SBI General Insurance and AON India Insurance to implement this initiative. PTI The government has relaxed the norms for various small savings schemes, including the Public Provident Fund (PPF) and Senior Citizen’s Savings Scheme. For the Senior Citizen’s Savings Scheme, the new norms provide three months to open an account against one month’s time at present. As per the gazette notification dated November 9, an individual can open an account under the Senior Citizen’s Savings Scheme within three months from the date of receipt of the retirement benefits and proof of the date of disbursal of such retirement benefits.

PTI State-owned insurer LIC on Friday reported a net profit of Rs 7,925 crore for the September quarter as compared to Rs 15,952 crore in the year-ago period amid decline in income. The net premium income eased to Rs 1,07,397 crore in the second quarter of the current fiscal, from Rs 1,32,631.72 crore in the year-ago period, LIC said in a filing. However, the first-year premium for the reporting quarter increased to Rs 9,988 crore, as against Rs 9,125 crore in the year-ago period, it said.
