Ministry of Railways has launched “One Station One Product” (OSOP) scheme with objective to promote the ‘Vocal for Local’ vision of the Government of India, provide a market for local/indigenous products and create additional income opportunities for the marginalised sections of the society. This scheme aims to provide enhanced opportunities for livelihood to local artisans, potters, weavers /handloom weavers, craftsmen etc, through provision of sale outlets at Railways Stations across the Country. PTI India’s aerospace major Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) is spending over Rs 2,000 crore this year on research and development in line with its overall approach towards indigenisation of critical avionics and related hardware, a senior official of the state-run entity said on Wednesday. PTI Amid reports raising questions on why under-construction Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi did not have a separate escape tunnel, the government on Wednesday said a separation wall was provided in the tunnel with egress openings at regular intervals that could be used as an escape route during an emergency.
