(ET) Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani has decided against approaching the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) to raise electricity charges. Electricity users will not be burdened further with the rising costs of electricity generation and distribution, the state government said on Tuesday. Energy minister Saurabh Patel said Gujarat expects Rs 51,507 crore from the consumers during 2020-21 for 87,824 million units of electricity according to the current approved electricity tariff. To compensate the deficit of Rs 882-crore, there needed to be an additional cost of Rs 0.13 per unit for consumers, but this will not be levied, the minister said. (PTI) In the wake of violence during protests against the amended Citizenship Act in south Delhi, DMRC closed gates of several metro stations, including GTB Nagar, Shivaji Stadium, Patel Chowk and Vishwavidyalaya, on Sunday evening. In a series of tweets, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said that entry and exit gates of GTB Nagar, Shivaji Stadium, Patel Chowk, Vishwavidyalaya, Vasant Vihar, Munirka, R K Puram Metro stations were closed on the advice of the police. (ET) Larsen & Toubro to has bagged an order in the range of Rs 1,000 crore- Rs 2,500 crore from Rail Vikas Nigam, the engineering major said Thursday.The order entails construction of Rishikesh – Karanprayag Tunnel 2 package works comprising tunnels, bridges and formation works in the state of Uttarakhand. L&T’s heavy civil infrastructure division will execute this order. “The project consists of the main tunnel with parallel escape tunnel and ballast-less track that runs inside the main tunnel. (ET) Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced amendments to the insolvency and bankruptcy code in Parliament Thursday, which will protect successful resolution applicants from criminal proceedings against offence committed by previous promoters, giving comfort to buyers of stressed assets. The bill provides that no agency can attach assets of an insolvent debtor undergoing bankruptcy resolution for prior offence. “An action against the property of the corporate data in relation to an offense shall include the attachment seizure retention or confiscation of such property under such a law as may be applicable to the corporate debtor,” the bill stated.
