The ‘Committee of Directors on Investment on Projects’ at its meeting held on February 2 (Wednesday) approved investments worth Rs 677.59 crore, it said in a BSE filing. The projects include “Transmission system for evacuation of Power from Pakaldul HEP in Chenab Valley HEPs-LTA System” at an estimated cost of Rs 318.12 crore, scheduled to be commissioned by April, 2025 (matching with Pakaldul hydroelectric power (HEP) generation). (F.E) Petrol and diesel prices were left unchanged by Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) on February 3 across the country. Petrol in the National Capital of Delhi currently retails at Rs 95.41 per litre while diesel in the city is priced at Rs 86.67 per litre. In Mumbai, a litre of petrol and diesel cost Rs 109.98 and Rs 94.14, respectively. Fuel prices have been stable since the central government cut excise duty to bring down retail rates from record highs in November last year. (T.E.T) The East West corridor project of Metro Railway in Kolkata has been allocated Rs 1,100 crore in the 2022-23 union budget, a hike of around 22.22 per cent from the current fiscal, an official said here on Wednesday. (T.E.T) With 1,72,433 people testing positive for coronavirus infection in a day, India’s total tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 4,18,03,318, while the active cases decreased to 15,33,921, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday. The death toll climbed to 4,98,983 with 1,008 fresh fatalities, including 500 from Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated.The active cases comprise 3.67 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has decreased to 95.14 per cent, the ministry said.
