Union Urban Development and Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu today rapped the Trivendra Singh Rawat-led state government for the poor implementation of the Union Government’s flagship programmes under the Department of Urban development. “The state is lagging behind in the implementation of the Central schemes. I don’t want to get into the details which government was in power in the past or that the present government has just completed 100 days,” said Naidu.
The Union Minister was in Dehradun to review the flagship programmes of the Modi government falling under his ministries of Urban Development and Information and Broadcasting. The Union Minister also rejected a request made by Minister for Urban Development Madan Kaushik to continue with the 90:10 assistance formula worked out between the Centre and the state beyond 2017. “Several states are clamouring for the special status tag for themselves. It is difficult to pay heed to the demand of the states. Everything has to be done according to the recommendations of NITI Aayog,” he said.
