Governor Dr KK Paul yesterday said the development and progress of a country were determined by the quality of its human capital which, in turn, depended on the education made available to them.He was addressing the first convocation of Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University at Badshahi Thaul in Tehri district. He said despite all the odds, the country was going through a period of accelerated growth and carving a place for itself in the dynamic global order.
He said in today’s era of technology the challenge before the youngsters was to use technology in an innovative manner for the betterment of all.“It is one’’s educational background, the ideas and visions that you imbibe that will enable you to understand and apply these new technological advancements towards improving society,” he said.Governor KK Paul said the students should explore the mechanisms created under the new schemes started by the Prime Minister to enhance the participation of the youth in development efforts. “It will be a dream come true for this country when students think about becoming job creators rather than job seekers through the Make in India and Start Up India programmes,” he said.
