Haryana government today said about Rs 82.50 crore will be spent for setting up ethanol plant in cooperative sugar mill at Shahabad.
The plant, which would be made functional next year, would generate income of about Rs 12-15 crore every year and in about six years, the mill would complete the cost of the project with its resources, Haryana Minister of State for Cooperation Manish Kumar Grover said. said that a 24 MW power plant had already been set up in the Shahabad cooperative sugar mill.
The plant will benefit the farmers of the area and will utilise waste material generated by the mill.He said, the Detailed Project Report and DNIT for the ethanol plant have been prepared by National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Limited, New Delhi. These have been sent to Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills for further action.
