Governor Dr KK Paul today laid the foundation stone of a building and stadium of Sanskrit Sansthan on the Raghunath Keerti Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya campus at Devprayag in Rudraprayag district. Addressing a gathering, he said in the coming years, this institution would have great significance. Devprayag would be known due to this institute.He said the institute would become the most effective medium for Sanskrit education and propagation of Sanskrit in the state.
It would help the youth gain perfection in the language and check migration from hill areas.He said Sanskrit was the root language of Indian civilization and had been a part of it for the past 2,000 years. All our ancient literature and scriptures were written in Sanskrit.The Governor said Sanskrit had a special place in the Indian Constitution. According to Article 345 of the Constitution, Uttarakhand had accepted Sanskrit as its second official language. “The relationship between Uttarakhand and Sanskrit is age-old and has now acquired a constitutional complexion,” he said.
