There is some good news for the rural citizen of the country as Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is expecting to fulfil its promise of bringing electricity to all the villages of the country by the end of 2019 well before the deadline. Lauding Central government’s efforts to enable electricity in various villages of the country, Union Minister Piyush Goyal took to micro-blogging site Twitter and said, “With 12,708 villages electrified since ’15, Govt’s mission to provide ‘Power for All’, set to complete before 2019.”

As per a report published by IBTimes, more than 12,708 villages of the country have been electrified since 2015 and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is expected to finish the electrification work way before 2019. Under the Vidut Pravah scheme, 73,798 circuit km transmission lines and 1,89,948 MVA sub-station capacity have been added on a national level.
