Green Energy Push: ACME Solar Completes 300 MW Rajasthan Project

ACME Solar Holdings has fully commissioned its 300 MW solar power project at Bikaner, Rajasthan, after adding the final 60 MW yesterday. This marks a major milestone for the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, ACME Sikar Solar.

Earlier, the company had commissioned 240 MW in phases—52.5 MW on May 9, 112.5 MW on May 19, and 75 MW on June 10. With the latest addition, the full project capacity of 300 MW is now operational.

Project built in one of India’s top solar zones

The solar project is spread across 1,300 acres in Bikaner, one of India’s highest solar irradiation zones. It is connected to the Bikaner II substation at 220 kV and is expected to generate approximately 780 million units of renewable energy every year.

This project was awarded to ACME under the SECI-ISTS XVIII scheme at a tariff of Rs 3.05 per unit. The tariff has already been approved by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), and the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is expected to be signed soon.

The SECI-ISTS XVIII scheme refers to the 18th tranche of renewable energy projects tendered by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) under the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) framework. Through this scheme, SECI invites bids from developers to set up solar or wind power projects and sell electricity at competitive tariffs, with the provision to transmit power across state boundaries using central transmission infrastructure.

ACME expands renewable energy portfolio with 50 MW wind project

In addition to the solar project, ACME Solar has also commissioned its first-ever wind energy project in Shapar, Gujarat. The 50 MW wind project was completed after installing the final turbine of 3.3 MW capacity this week. It has a 25-year PPA with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL).

This wind project marks ACME’s entry into the wind energy segment, further diversifying its renewable energy portfolio and strengthening its in-house Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) capabilities.

ACME’s total renewable capacity now at 2,890 MW

With the completion of both projects, ACME Solar’s total operational renewable energy capacity has increased to 2,890 MW. The company also has another 4,080 MW in various stages of development across solar, wind, hybrid, and firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) segments.
