    Laying Emphasis On Skill Development, CM Inaugurates G-NTTF In Gadag

    Emphasising the need for youth to equip themselves with the requisite skills, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that it will be difficult to get jobs if one fails to acquire the necessary skills.

    He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the G-NTTF located on the premises of Gadag Cooperative Industrial Estate on Tuesday.

    Mentioning that the State government has set up a department to look into the issue of skill development, the Chief Minister said that it has been done with the sole objective of facilitating skill development among the youth.

    Mr. Siddaramaiah said that under the Yuva Nidhi scheme, unemployed youths are being given financial aid for a period of two years and within two years, they will be required to equip themselves with the requisite skill sets.

    In fact, apart from helping them with skill development, job fairs are being organised to bring job-seekers and job-givers on a single platform and ensure employment for skilled youths, he said.

    The Chief Minister mentioned about skill development being facilitated through GTTCs (Government Tool Room and Training Centres) across the State and hoped that the new institution G-NTTF, a branch of the NTTF (Nettur Technical Training Foundation), will help students in acquiring multiple skills.

    He lauded the efforts made by Law and Parliamentary Affairs H.K. Patil in getting NTTF set up its branch in Gadag and hoped that the initiative will help students a great deal.

    Mr. Patil, Minister for Municipal Administration Rahim Khan, MLAs G.S. Patil and C.C. Patil, MLC Saleem Ahmed, the former MLA D.R. Patil and others were present.
