Uttar Pradesh Police is now aligning with international standards. Under CM Yogi’s vision of zero tolerance towards crime, the UP Police is advancing smart policing and establishing new benchmarks through its responsible and reliable approach.

In a significant milestone, Sonbhadra Police Line has achieved international ISO certification. It is now the first police line in Purvanchal to receive the ISO-9001:2015 certification from the International Organization for Standardization. This certification recognizes Sonbhadra Police Line’s excellence in management, training, services, and facilities.

It is notable that the Commissionerate Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) has already set a precedent as Uttar Pradesh’s first ISO-9001:2015 certified commissionerate. The recent ISO-9001:2015 certification of Sonbhadra Police Line underscores the successful implementation of CM Yogi Adityanath’s vision for smart policing.

This certification marks a significant milestone in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and zero tolerance toward crime. It ensures the timeliness of operations, adherence to standard operating procedures, enhanced human management, improved workplace conditions, and better basic facilities.

These advancements are expected to boost police efficiency, strengthen law and order, and directly benefit the people of Uttar Pradesh. The certification paves the way for providing international-standard facilities to police officers and personnel.

Superintendent of Police Sonbhadra, Dr. Yashveer Singh, said that the ISO team evaluated various facilities at the police line, including the gym, sports complex, central police canteen, transport branch, armory, training ground, uniform store, General Diary Office, and Census Office. The assessment also covered the clean and well-equipped barracks provided for the residence of police personnel. The facilities were found to meet ISO standards, leading to Sonbhadra Police Line receiving the ISO-9001:2015 certification in August 2024.

The Director General of Police of Uttar Pradesh, Prashant Kumar, congratulated the Sonbhadra Police, stating, “Sonbhadra Police has achieved international recognition. The enhancement in basic infrastructure—from residences to workplaces for police personnel and officers—will boost their efficiency and effectiveness, which will be reflected in improved police operations.”He also noted that the Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) Commissionerate has previously attained ISO-9001:2015 certification, showcasing improved policing standards. Kumar added that other districts are expected to follow suit and receive ISO-9001:2015 certification in the future.
