    NLC India Shares Gain On Winning Coal Mine Block In Odisha

    NLC India share price jumped in the early trade on July 8 after the company bagged second commercial coal mine block at Machhakata, Odisha.At 09:22am, NLC India was quoting at Rs 266.10, up Rs 4.55, or 1.74 percent, on the BSE.

    “…. has emerged as successful bidder for Machhakata (revised) coal mine in Angul district of Odisha subsequent to the commercial coal block E-auction held on 02.02.2024 by Ministry of Coal,” company said in its exchange filing.The coal mine block is having a total coal reserve of 1377 million tonnes (approximately) with a peak rated capacity of 30 million tonnes per annum.

    The company has achieved 22.12 percent growth in lignite production during Q1FY 2024-25 at 61.72 LT and raised its coal production to 28.46 LT which is 5.27 percent growth during Q1FY 2024-25. The company has raised its Lignite and Coal production to 90.18 LT which is 25 .98 percent growth during Q1 FY 2024-25 when compared to Q1FY 2023-24 i.e. 71.58 LT.The company’s gross power generation increased to 7,553.62 MU which is 10.38 percent more than Q1 FY 2023-24.
