Counting of votes for the state legislative assembly election in the five states will begin on Saturday morning at 8 AM amidst tight security. The Congress claims that it would come to power in Punjab after a decade. Meanwhile, the election also holds a lot of significance for the Aam Aadmi Party which hopes to put up a good show in its first assembly elections outside Delhi. In Punjab, votes are to be counted at 54 centres across 27 locations in the state with an 117-member assembly. The EC is reported to have issued strict guidelines for the arrangement for the same, some of which include the banning on mobile phones inside the counting halls. A micro-observer will also be present with general observers at every counting table. A three-tier security arrangement has also been made in and around the counting centres.
