Monsoon session of Parliament begins today, ‘India’ vs NDA will be face-to-face, may be ruckus on Manipur

The monsoon session of Parliament will begin on July 20 and conclude on August 11. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal were also present. On behalf of the opposition parties, Congress MPs Jairam Ramesh, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Aam Aadmi Party’s Sanjay Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal’s Harsimrat Kaur Badal and many other leaders participated.

During the meeting, various parties, including the Congress, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik’s Biju Janata Dal, demanded a discussion on various issues concerning the country.

The Congress demanded that the government discuss issues like the situation in Manipur, Odisha train tragedy and price rise in the all-party meeting. Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury told PTI, “We have demanded in the meeting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should come to the House and discuss the situation in Manipur.” Let’s have a discussion.

Opposition parties are gearing up to corner the government over various issues like the situation in Manipur and the Delhi Service Ordinance in the monsoon session beginning July 20. The Democratic Alliance (NDA) can be challenged.

During this session of Parliament, the issue of the Delhi National Capital Territory Government Amendment Ordinance and the bill related to it will be prominently raised and there is a possibility of a tussle between the government and the opposition on it. The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been opposing the ordinance on appointment and transfer of bureaucrats in Delhi, which was promulgated by the Central government in May.

After attending an all-party meeting called by the government, AAP leader Sanjay Singh told reporters, “How can the subject of constitutional amendment be passed through an ordinance? We will strongly oppose the crushing of the rights of two crore people of Delhi and not allowing the Kejriwal government to run.”
