Opposition alliance break the law by naming it ‘India’? Complaint to police against 26 parties

The name ‘India’ has been chosen for this alliance at a meeting of 26 opposition parties held in Bengaluru on Tuesday. A complaint was lodged at Barakhamba Road police station in Delhi against all 26 political parties involved in the opposition alliance for renaming the alliance as India (Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance-India).

Avneesh Mishra has said in the complaint to the police that under Section 3 of the Embalam Act, no one can use the name India for his personal benefit and in this way the use of the name ‘India’ has hurt the feelings of the people of India.

This is the punishment for violation of the Embalam Act

The complaint to the police also states that “Section 5 of the Embalam Act provides for punishment along with fine for such violations.’ “Clearly, the above political parties have violated Section 3 of the Embalam section by using ‘India’ as the name of their alliance and are, therefore, liable to be punished under Section 5 of the said Act.’

The name ‘India’ was chosen for the 26-member Opposition party at a meeting in Bengaluru on Tuesday, while the opposition parties chose the tagline, ‘Jeetega Bharat’ for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections , But in the meeting of opposition parties, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge definitely said that the Congress is not interested in power or the post of Prime Minister.
