Former Uttar Pradesh minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar today rejoined the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), strengthening the alliance ahead of the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Rajbhar today said he will attend the NDA meeting on July 18. Rajbhar said the coming together of the BJP and the SBSP will create a major force in the state which will work for the upliftment of the weaker sections.
Speaking to the media, Rajbhar said, “SBSP and BJP have decided to fight the elections together. We had a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on July 14 and had detailed discussions on many subjects including welfare of the poor and deprived people.” The society… He agreed with our concerns. The coming together of the two parties will become a major force in the state and will help in furthering Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of bettering the lives of the poor and weaker sections. Improved. ”
When rajbhar was asked about his earlier statement that he would support the opposition alliance, he asked how long he expected to wait for a confirmation from the opposition parties. He said, “How long will I wait? I spoke to him several times but I did not get any response from him. “We will attend the NDA meeting in Delhi on July 18. The minister’s post is not important to me. Now there is no competition in Uttar Pradesh. ”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah welcomed him into the NDA. “Met Shri Om Prakash Rajbhar ji in Delhi and he decided to join the NDA alliance led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. I welcome him into the NDA family. With the arrival of Rajbhar ji, the NDA will be strengthened in Uttar Pradesh and efforts are going on. “Under the leadership of Modi ji, the efforts made by the NDA for the welfare of the poor and deprived will get more strength,” Shah said. ”
Rajbhar, a former minister (2017-2019) in the Uttar Pradesh BJP government, was sacked for “anti-coalition activities”. He then contested the 2022 assembly elections in alliance with the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party. That alliance also ended in July last year. Before joining the SP alliance, Rajbhar had joined hands with the Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM.
Given the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the alliance is crucial for the BJP, especially given the SBSP’s presence in the Purvanchal region.
