Home minister Amit Shah will take up issues such as the linking of rivers Ken and Betwa and roads and banking facilities in Maoist affected areas during the meeting of the interstate council in Bhopal on Monday. The meet will be attended by chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttrakhand, officials said.
The Ken-Betwa project was approved by the Union Cabinet last December with a total cost of Rs 44,605 crore. The project will be completed in eight years and benefit the Bundelkhand region, including Banda, Mahoba, Jhansi and Lalitpur of Uttar Pradesh and Panna, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Sagar, Damoh, Datia, Vidisha, Shivpuri and Raisen of Madhya Pradesh.
