Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) today has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for entrustment of additional charge of the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) to Dr. Alka Mittal Director (HR), ONGC for a period or six months w.e.f 01.01.2022. As Alka Mittal appointed to Additional Charge of CMD, ONGC, she becomes first woman CMD of oil major since inception.
Post of CMD ONGC was vacant since January 1, 2022, after the superannuation of Subhash Kumar on December 31, 2021. Due to this government now has appointed Dr. Alka Mittal to the post.
