Shimla and upper areas of the district received another spell of snow, disrupting traffic in upper Shimla. Kufri received 23 cm of snow followed by Khadrala and Mashobra 5 cm each and Shimla 3 cm.
Seven persons in two vehicles, including two women and an infant, who were stuck between Deha and Kheerki, while trying to reach Chopal last night, were rescued. A rescue team from Chopal and the PWD staff in JCB were sent from Chambi point and all stranded persons had been rescued, Deputy Commissioner, Shimla, Amit Kashyap said.
The supply of essential commodities to areas beyond Dhalli was delayed as roads were closed near Kufri, Narkanda, Khara Pathar and Kheerki due to slippery conditions. Machines were deployed to clear snow and the roads were opened to small vehicles around 3 pm, said SP, Shimla, Omapati Jamwal.
