    Petroleum Minister Dedicates Three Mega ONGC Projects In Assam

    Shri Dharmendra Pradhan Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship has dedicated to the nation three mega projects of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) in Assam. Along with two engineering projects of ONGC related to oil processing and transportation, the Minister also dedicated to nation the multi-specialty hospital at Rajabari in Sivasagar of Upper Assam. This hospital of ONGC, the company’s single largest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project, is aimed at providing quality and affordable medicare to the people of Sivasagar and Upper Assam.

    The Minister Shri Pradhan dedicated the projects on 1 March 2019 along with the Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry, Transport, Parliamentary Affairs, Act East Policy Affairs, Skill, Entrepreneur & Employment, Shri Chandra Mohan Patowary. Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam Shri Sarbananda Sonowal and Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Transformation & Development, Health & Family Welfare, PWD, Govt. of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma sent their best wishes through their messages which were displayed on the occasion. ONGC CMD Mr. Shashi Shanker, Director (Onshore), Mr. S K Moitra and Director (HR), Dr. (Mrs.) Alka Mittal were also present on the occasion.

    The ONGC Board accorded approval for the Multi-Specialty 300 Bed Hospital project, to be undertaken in three phases. The first phase of this hospital building, with 50 beds, at a cost of Rs. 99 Crore is getting ready for functioning. Competent and qualified doctors have already been recruited from the state of Assam by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vaidyakiya Pratisthan (BAVP), the COM (Construction, Operation and Management) partner engaged towards implementing this project. Further, the  recruitment process for paramedics, nurses and other support staff   from Sivasagar and adjoining areas  has been initiated.

    The Minister also dedicated to the nation the Effluent Treatment cum Water Injection Plant at Lakhmani oilfield of ONGC. This ONGC Plant, built at an investment of Rs 88 crore, will handle the effluent produced at Lakhmani and Demulgaon Fields and after treatment inject the Water into the Reservoir for Pressure maintenance. The 3 Trains of 1000 M 3 per day capacity Plant has been designed to process the Effluent produced in the Lakhmani Field and Demulgaon Field; after due treatment the Water is injected into  the Reservoir for Pressure maintenance. The state-of-the art plant is equipped with Ultra Filtration System and Digital Control Systems (DCS). The new Lakhmani ETP-WIP is capable to provide treated injection Water of very high Quality, bringing down levels of  Turbidity (max): < 0.5 NTU, TSS(Max): < 2.5 ppm, Oil : <10 ppm and thereby comply with the Environment Standards.

    The GGS Borholla to Jorhat CTF pipeline was also dedicated by the Minister from Guwahati. The pipeline, built at an investment of Rs 44 crore, will export the Crude Oil produced in Borholla, Khoraghat, Nambar Satellite Fields to Crude Tank Farm (CTF) in Jorhat for sale to Refineries. The 43.4 kilometers long 12 inch diameter pipeline crosses through 34 villages, two railway crossings and one river crossing at Bhugdoi River. The challenge to obtain the ‘Right of Use’ (ROU) from the land owner(s) was overcome with active cooperation from District Administration and other stakeholders. The line was successfully commissioned on 29.12.2018. The pipeline has a volume of 3149 m3 of oil and line carries currently around 550 Tonnes per day of oil to the Custody Transfer Point. This is the only line for evacuation of Oil from oil fields of Jorhat sector. The new line has ensured reliable and safe dispatch of crude oil by ONGC from the fields of Jorhat Asset.
