    (ET)

The Rs 3,400 crore Bokaro-Angul gas pipeline, just inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will help pave the way for supply of natural gas for households, vehicles and industries across 11 districts of Odisha and Jharkhand, oil ministry said.

PM Modi had on Monday laid the foundation stone of the Bokaro–Angul section, part of the larger 2,650 Kilometer Jagdishpur–Haldia & Bokaro-Dhamra (JHBDPL) pipeline, popularly known as the Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga project.

“The pipeline will benefit a large population in the districts enroute with clean and green fuel in the form of household PNG connection & establishment of CNG station resulting in easy accessibility to cooking fuel to thousands of households and reducing vehicular pollution,” the ministry said in a statement.
