Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal inaugurated the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) scheme here . While inaugurating the 25th such centre in the state, Harsimrat said such skill development centres would be set up in every district throughout the country. The ministry aimed at setting up 600 PMKKs. Of these, 480 centres had already been set up, she said.
She said, “A number of centres have been opened in Barnala, Sangrur, Bathinda and Mansa. These centres will train 1,000 youths in courses, including hairstyling, welding, plumbing, field technicians, repair of home appliances and hardware and others.” “We are working to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India the skill capital of the world. Youth will be able to transform their lives and become self-reliant. The entire economy will witness exponential growth with this initiative.”
