BHEL has been conferred the India Pride Award 2017-18 for Excellence in Heavy Industries in the Maharatna category. The award was received by Sh. Atul Sobti, CMD, BHEL, from Sh. Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Sh. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. 
Significantly, BHEL has won this award for the eighth time since the award was instituted.
