Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mukesh Agnihotri today hit out at Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur for pushing the “Hindutva” agenda in his budget for the year 2018-19 which had no long-term vision as most scheme were the ones initiated by the previous Congress regime.Initiating a debate on the budget proposals for 2018-19 presented by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in the Vidhan Sabha on March 9, he said the Chief Minister had failed to present the blue print for the state’s development in the next five years. “Being your first budget, not just we but the people of Himachal had a lot of expectations and you have disappointed everyone,” he said.
The Chief Minister retaliated to the allegations by the CLP leader that his regime was pushing the Hindutva agenda by stating that he was proud to make provision for taking care of cows and create Gau Sadans rather than purchase swanky cars from temple funds. “I am surprised that the Congress has so many objections within just two months, including who should be posted in my office, which at least should be my prerogative,” Thakur shot back.
