Bharat Ke Veer Garners Over Rs 26 crore In Donations Just 6 Months After Launch

Just six months after ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ scheme was launched by Centre to help families of martyred soldiers, it has till now garnered Rs 26 crore in donations. The app of the scheme allows donors to directly give their money to the families of slain soldiers.The website of Bharat Ke Veer was launched by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh along with actor Akshay Kumar in April this year. Since its launch, the website has got a great response. The main aim of this website is to enable the public to help families by donating money directly through to accounts of next of kin of bravehearts or to Bharat Ke Veer corpus.

Soldiers from armed forces included in the portal for these contributions include Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), Assam Rifles (AR), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF-India), National Security Guards (NSG) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). In August this year, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar urged people to make donations to the website. In his message, the actor had said, “Currently, there are names and photographs of 114 jawans in the site. Let us pledge after six months from now we will delete their names from the website by donating to all the 114 families”.
