The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is set to strengthen Bihar’s industrial ecosystem with the establishment of a new Technology Centre at Khizarsarai in Gaya district. Union MSME Minister Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi and Bihar Chief Minister Shri Samrat Choudhary will jointly lay the foundation stone of the project on June 15, 2026, marking a significant step toward enhancing technological capabilities and industrial growth in the Magadh region.

The Technology Centre will be developed with an investment of ₹170 crore, including ₹86 crore for civil infrastructure and ₹84 crore for advanced machinery and equipment. Spread across a 20-acre campus provided by the Bihar Government, the facility will feature production, training, utility and administrative blocks, along with a multipurpose hall, hostel and staff accommodation.

The Centre will focus on key sectors such as General Engineering, Heavy Engineering and Textile Testing. It is expected to serve MSMEs in Gaya, Aurangabad, Nawada, Nalanda, Jehanabad and Munger districts by providing access to advanced manufacturing technologies, skilled manpower and technical support services.

A wide range of facilities will be available, including tool room services, CNC machining, CAD/CAM/CAE design support, rapid prototyping, Industry 4.0 laboratories and renewable energy solutions. The Centre will also offer industry-oriented training programmes in Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Automation, Data Analytics, VLSI, Quality Control and Textile Technologies.

In addition, MSMEs will benefit from business advisory services covering market research, product development, regulatory compliance, digital marketing, branding, automation and incubation support.

The Technology Centre is expected to train around 7,000 candidates annually and support over 1,000 MSMEs each year through tooling and job-work services. By bridging technology gaps and improving industrial competitiveness, the project is poised to become a major catalyst for economic growth and employment generation in southern Bihar.
