Presently the monsoon session is going on in the temple of democracy. This is the last monsoon session of the second term of the Modi government. This session is turning out to be very stormy. The opposition is besieging the government and the Prime Minister on the issue of Manipur in the House. The demand of the opposition is that this subject should be discussed in detail and PM Modi should give his statement on this, but the government refused to accept this demand. Meanwhile, the opposition has brought a no-confidence motion against the government in the Lok Sabha. Many opposition parties have given their support to it. There is also a party which has come together with the Modi government in the Lok Sabha against this proposal.

Andhra Pradesh’s ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) will vote against the no-confidence motion brought by the ‘India’ alliance against the central government. YSRCP leader V. Vijayasai Reddy on Thursday announced that the party would support the Center and vote against the resolution. Vijaysai Reddy tweeted, “How does bringing a no-confidence motion help the country? It is not in the national interest to try to weaken the central government at this time of unrest in Manipur and 2 hostile neighbors. This is the time to work together, not against each other.

YSRCP has 22 MPs in the Lok Sabha. During the last four years, the party has supported the central government in the Parliament to pass major bills. Significantly, the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led party is not a part of the opposition alliance ‘INDIA’. It is believed that this no-confidence motion of the opposition will fall during the voting, because in the current Lok Sabha, BJP alone has majority. BJP has 301 MPs. If NDA’s allies are added to this, then this figure is going to reach 333. Whereas ‘India’ has only 142 MPs.
