Governor KK Paul today said the InternationaI Yoga Festival in Rishikesh was growing in stature and helping the state in becoming a sought-after destination for yoga and spiritual tourism.The Governor inaugurated the festival at Parmarth Niketan and said he was glad to be with saints, yogacharyas, dignitaries and all yoga enthusiasts from across the globe at the International Yoga Festival. The festival has been jointly organised by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB), Parmarth Niketan and Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam.He said sages in the search of eternal truth and knowledge visited places close to nature. And that is how Uttarakhand became Devbhumi. “It is from the Devbhumi that yoga originated and has now spread in the entire world. It is wonderful to see that people from across the world gather here to celebrate the festival of yoga and spirituality,” he said.
