Kovind confers degrees on Tanda medical college students | Hails Ayushman Bharat scheme that will cover at least 50 crore people. President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday urged medical professionals to conduct their profession with compassion. Patients are not just medical cases, but human beings. Medicine is nobel profession and doctors need to get solace while treating patients and taking care of the poor, the President said.
The President was here to preside over the 1st convocation of the Dr Rajindra Prasad medical college at Tanda in Kangra district. The President lauded the decisions of the present NDA government for launching Ayushman Bharat health scheme and restructuring the Medical Council of India. He said Ayushman Bharat scheme was one of the biggest health schemes of the world under which about 50 crore people would be covered. In the first month of its launch 1 lakh people across the country had been benefited by the scheme.
