Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has cautioned both India and Nepal to be aware of forces that want to create a rift between the two close neighbours.Rawat was addressing the inaugural session of two-day conference on India-Nepal relations and security issues here today. The conference is being jointly organised by Indian Council for International Cooperation and Policy Research Institution, Nepal.The Chief Minister said cultural and social relations between the two nations had been strong since ages. “Uttarakhand and Nepal share closely knit and affectionate relations.
People have family relations on both sides,” he said. But, added that there were forces bent on creating a rift between the two close neighbours. He also hoped that opinions that emerge after deliberations during the conference would be disseminated among the people of both countries and would help in further strengthening of relations.Earlier, Policy Research Institution Nepal’s Director Deepak Adhikari said Indo-Nepal security issues today kept much importance for both India and Nepal. He said it was not just cultural and social relations but also economic relations that unite the two nations.
